A planning application to refresh the design of Apple’s Regent Street store in London describes the current look as “tired and outdated” as it joins the queue to see a major redesign. This is expected to be broadly in line with the new look first seen in Brussels when it opened two weeks ago, overseen by Jony Ive in his new role as Apple’s Chief Design Officer. The status of the building as ‘listed’ (historically protected) will limit the exterior changes the company is allowed to make, but the four Apple logos in the windows will be removed to allow in more light, reports the Evening Standard....

Apple is rolling out an update to the Apple Developer app for iPhone and iPad that brings a few notable features. This update comes ahead of the forthcoming all online WWDC that Apple has announced for June. Apple and IBM are continuing to develop their partnership first established just over a year ago as IBM announced today a new program to help large enterprises use Macs within their IT infrastructures. IBM’s MobileFirst Managed Mobility Services will allow its commercial clients to integrate Macs in their workplace with IBM supporting the deployment. Interestingly, IBM says it’s able to roll out the new program to commercial clients thanks to its own internal trial that we previously reported....

Apple this evening has officially released a statement on the Meltdown and Spectre bugs affecting ARM and Intel processors. Apple Arcade – Apple’s gaming streaming service – will soon lose 15 titles as the company just added a new “Leaving Arcade Soon” tab with games that will no longer be part of the 200+ offerings available for its subscribers. As reported by TouchArcade, Apple added at the bottom of the Arcade tab in the App Store a new section called “Leaving Arcade Soon,” which shows what games will be removed from the streaming service in the near future....

Popular Apple Authorized Reseller and Service Provider Simply Mac is closing a handful of stores around the country. The store, owned by GameStop, operates a variety of locations in areas primarily where Apple Stores aren’t prevalent. The news of the closures has been reported by local stations around the country. The Billings Gazette, for instance, reports that the Simply Mac store in Billings shut down yesterday following a less-than-stellar holiday quarter....

As we previously detailed, Apple officially unveiled its Facebook integration in iOS 6 today. It is accessible through a system-wide Setting pane. One of the features includes the ability to post right from within apps, which is similar to the current Twitter integration. It also offers access to update contacts for adding Facebook usernames and photos to contact cards. The Facebook integration—alongside Twitter—is now baked directly into the Notification Center with small “Tap to tweet” and “Tap to Post” buttons....

Following Apple’s special event today, the company has updated its online store to include several new accessories including new iPhone case options. Apple seems to have finally caught up with demand for its latest iMac models. Both the new 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs are now shipping from Apple’s online store in 1-3 business days. Up until earlier today, Apple’s new iMacs were quoted as having a shipping time of 2-3 weeks for the 21.5-inch model and 3-4 weeks for the larger 27-inch configurations. Apple’s redesigned iMacs models have been supply constrained since their November and December launches....

Numerous online stores in China took the iPad off their shelves after Proview said Apple was breaking its trademark on the term “iPad.” The fight continues in court, but Apple released a statement today to China Daily about Proview’s allegations on Apple allegedly breaking the trademark. Apple said it purchased Proview’s iPad trademark over several years ago in 10 different countries. Proview is refusing to transfer the trademark, but Hong Kong courts have already sided with Apple, according to the statement....

This week has seen Apple fined for the ninth time as it again failed to satisfy the Dutch antitrust regulator ACM that it was complying with the law in respect of the App Store.
