Apple has been granted a restraining order against a woman who has allegedly been stalking Apple CEO Tim Cook for over a year. According to a new report from The Mercury News, Apple said in legal fillings that the woman emailed photos of a loaded gun to Cook and trespassed at his home. The Mercury News reports that Apple has accused the woman of “erratic, threatening, and bizarre behavior.” The woman first came to Cook’s attention after she tagged him multiple times on Twitter, Apple’s complaint explains, because “he receives alerts when he’s tagged on Twitter....

While the company will use Sony’s MicroOLED display for the first units, LG Display is aiming to also be a supplier of the inner panel for this product. Just after coming to a surprise settlement with Qualcomm yesterday, Apple has been hit with another lawsuit. The latest is a class-action suit filed by an employees’ retirement fund and claims that Apple committed securities fraud with how it handled information about its iPhone sales. A consortium including Apple Inc, Microsoft, EMC Corp, Sony, Ericsson, and BlackBerry maker Research In Motion bought bankrupt telecommunications gear maker Nortel Networks Corp’s remaining portfolio of 6000 patents for $4.5 billion, in an auction that began early this week. RIM reportedly paid $770 million, Ericsson paid $340 million. It wasn’t immediately clear how much Apple paid. Google had originally opened bidding with a $900 million bid. The consortium of strange bedfellows will split up the portfolio based on the split of the purchase price....

Every day, Apple runs a shuttle service from San Francisco to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino to help employees commute to work.
