Latest in the series of leaks about the hottest new Battle Royale, Apex Legends, is yet another that seems likely to be true: it’s possible that one of Titanfall’s iconic guns is going to make it into the game sometime soon. The showdown between Apple and Samsung seems far from over. In what feels like a never-ending battle, Apple and the FBI will once again testify in Congress next week regarding encryption. Reuters reports that Apple general counsel Bruce Sewell and FBI executive assistant director Amy Hess will testify on separate panels before House Energy and Commerce subcommittee next Tuesday, April 19th. A congressional committee made the announcement today, which comes after the FBI dropped the case regarding Apple’s refusal to help unlock an iPhone 5c used by one of the San Bernardino gunmen last December....
After months of speculation and TV show deals, Apple today has officially announced its foray into original content. The service will be called Apple TV+. Apple CEO Tim Cook invited Jamie Ehrlicht and Zack Van Amburg on stage at today’s event at Steve Jobs Theater. Apple hired the two former Sony Television executives in 2017. The two executives led into a video starring creatives such as JJ Abrams, M. Night Shyamalan, Ron Howard, Sofia Coppola, Steven Spielberg, and more....
Apple just announced new iCloud pricing coming soon to compliment a ton of new cloud features unveiled for iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite today. The new pricing starts with the same free 5GB for all users and introduces a new 20GB for $1/month tier as well as a 200GB for $4/month tier. Currently Apple offers 5GB for free and charges $20.00 for an extra 10GB, $40 for an extra 20GB, or $100 for 50GB per month....
Apple is reportedly asking its retail store landlords in the UK to slash its rent by as much as 50%, according to a new report from The Sunday Times. If landlords agree to cut the rent and offer a “rent-free period,” Apple is allegedly prepared to extend its leases by several years. The report explains that Apple would like its rent to match what is being paid by other retailers amid the slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic....
Apple has started selling older versions of OS X through the Apple Online Store. Despite the fact that neither operating system can be purchased through the Mac App Store, you can still buy them for $19.99 each through Apple’s website. Rather than a physical disc with the software, you’ll get a code that can be redeemed on the App Store to begin downloading the OS immediately. Offering Lion makes sense for older Macs since some Lion-capable machines cannot run Mountain Lion....
Last week, in the Epic vs. Apple case, US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers decided that Apple can no longer ban developers from using “buttons, external links, or other calls to action that direct customers to purchasing methods,” but she didn’t say Apple needs to lower its commission or that it could no longer charge its fee. Now, according to Bloomberg, Apple could still tell developers that it intends to collect a commission of up to 30%, despite last week’s court ruling....

Earlier this week, App Store users and developers noticed that Apple had quietly started rolling out a new “Report a Problem” link to app listings. Now, Apple has officially confirmed that this feature is available for users in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States – with plans to “expand to other regions over time.” In a new post on the Apple Developer blog, Apple says that the App Store has “supported a way for users to report problems with their apps and purchases” since the start, but that this new “Report a Problem” link makes the process easier....
Earlier this year, Apple purchased popular digital magazine distributor Texture. Now, the company is reportedly in talks with major newspaper publishers. Re/code reports that Apple is looking at the big newspaper publishers in the U.S., attempting to persuade them to add their stories to Texture. With Eddy Cue leading the negotiations, Apple has reached out to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post regarding adding their content to the app....
Update: Apple has now responded to developers complaints regarding the issue in its Developer Forums and according to TechCrunch told one developer a dedicated team is working on a fix. Quentin Tarantino’s latest opus, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, has been given 10 nominations at this year’s Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio, Best Supporting Actor for Brad Pitt, and Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Tarantino. The intertwining tales of Rick Dalton, Cliff Booth, and Sharon Tate came together to create one of the year’s best movies. Since this is a story about how movies get made, it’s appropriate that the story of how Once Upon a Time in Hollywood came to fruition itself is pretty interesting....
Last week Apple announced a decision to decrease USB-C accessory prices to help out new MacBook Pro users who might need adapters temporarily. Apple has now started automatically crediting customers who purchased the reduced products just prior to the announcement. Apple appears to be sending out credits to those who purchased the USB-C accessories on or after the day of its MacBook Pro event on October 27th before the price drop kicked in on Friday, November 4th last week....
Apple yesterday kicked off a new video series promoting an iOS 10 Photos feature called Memories, which automatically builds collections of related images and videos. This evening, Apple has shared another pair of tutorial videos for Memories focused on sharing and customization… The first video is entitled “How to share Memories on iPhone 7” and walks users through the steps of viewing Memories in the Photos app and instantly sharing them via iMessage or social networks....
In conjunction with this week’s release of AirPods Max, a trio of Apple executives sat down for an interview with Japanese design website Casa BRUTUS. In the interview, Evans Hankey, Apple’s VP of industrial design, Eugene Whang, industrial designer, and Bob Borchers, VP of product marketing, talked more in-depth about the new AirPods Max and the controversial Smart Case. Note that the Apple quotes have been translated to English from Japanese, which is why they might sound sort of awkward....
According to a report from Deadline, Apple is working on developing a show called Little America, created by Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon who wrote the popular movie, The Big Sick. The show will be focusing on “a small, collective portrait of America’s immigrants — and thereby a portrait of America itself.” The show will run for half an hour and will be developed as a straight-to-series project. It’ll likely take cues from producer Alan Yang and Nanjiani’s personal family stories to develop the series, in conjunction with the show writer, Lee Eisenberg....
The Galaxy S10 is a beast of a smartphone that was launched in March 2019 by Samsung. It has other two variants or I must say three variants namely the S10e, S10+, and the S10+ 5G versions. These smartphones were the most anticipated smartphones of the 1st half of the year and they delivered it quite right.
