At WWDC today Apple has announced changes to Apple Music. Eddy Cue first noted that Apple Music has 15 million paying subscribers, which is the most of any streaming service during the first year. As expected, Apple has entirely redesigned the Music app interface with a new design.
Now, when you open the Music app the first screen you will see is the “Library,” as opposed to previous versions when the “For You” screen was shown. The “For You” interface has been revamped, however, to show a lot more information. Connect has also been integrated into the “For You” tab, as there is no longer a tab solely for Connect.
The Now Playing interface has also been refreshed with a card-like scrolling platform. There’s also support for lyrics at long last, like we expected.
The “Radio” tab has also been refreshed. It’s now much easier to view on-demand Beats 1 content, with each show having their own page with quick access to past-shows.
The new Music app will be available in iOS 10. The developer beta will be available today and it will release to the public this fall. Keep up with all of the new iOS 10 features here.
