Business Insider reports that Apple is in talks to acquire the growing e-commerce related social network The Fancy. The Fancy is a competitor to Pinterest, and its premise is a network where users can “fancy” products, clothes, places, and more. Users of the network are able to purchase what they “fancy” or view on the site, making it an e-commerce platform. Sometimes, these purchases come at a discount.

The Fancy’s company description:

Notably, the report notes that Apple CEO Tim Cook had a meeting with the creator of The Fancy, Joe Einhorn, at the recent Sun Valley conference. Cook also met with other social network creators, including Twitter and Square executive Jack Dorsey.  Even more interesting is that Tim Cook is a verified user of the service. The Fancy is based in New York and has 20 employees, according to the report.
